Given the building’s significance, an archaeologist was on site throughout the excavation and dismantling stages to carefully oversee the process.
Two new roofs were built in line with heritage guidelines, and we added a single storey extension to create space for an additional bedroom.
Traditional, breathable materials were used throughout including lime plaster and limecrete floors, helping the building stay true to its original character while meeting modern standards.
To complete the transformation, we installed a ground source heat pump, delivering efficient underfloor heating throughout the space.
